You can make a gift to the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters through your will or a codicil to your will.  (A codicil is an addition one makes to their original will when a change is needed because of changing circumstances.)  A gift made through your will is called a bequest.  A bequest may be particularly attractive as a gift option if you are unable to make a current (outright) gift, but would like to contribute to the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters  in a meaningful way.  Bequests may be restricted or unrestricted and will be used where most needed. 

You can bequeath a specific amount of money, a specific asset, or a percentage of your estate.  “Residual” bequests go to the Sisters only after all debts, expenses, taxes, and other bequests have been paid.

You should note that our legal title is Bernardine Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, although we are commonly known as the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters.
