Bernardine Franciscan Sisters welcome you to our web site and to our vibrant Franciscan community. We hope you will get to know more about who we are and join with us in our lives of prayer and in our mission. Travel with us to discover your passion in life!

Our community is founded on the ideals of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi and their followers – ideals we believe are as precious now as they have ever been.  As a faith-filled community rooted in contemplation and Gospel values, we strive to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to all we meet and especially to those who suffer from poverty and oppression.

The Vatican has announced that 2015 (from the First Sunday of Advent in 2014 to February 2, 2016) will be the Year of Consecrated Life. Its purpose,  is to “make a grateful remembrance of the recent past;” embracing” the future with hope;” and “living in the present passionately.”

The US Conference of Catholic Bishops suggested that the year include “Days with Religious.” Activities should focus on sharing experiences of prayer, service, and community life with those living a consecrated life.

Trusting in Divine Providence, we journey in faith and joy, sister and servant to all.

We are called by God to live the Gospel and profess public vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, living a life of contemplative prayer and active ministry in a common fraternity.

We welcome all as brother and sister. Faithful to the Church and to our charism, we seek justice, peace and reconciliation, especially as we work with and in behalf of the poor.
